lucyfer youth foundation

last weekend I was very emotional at wu lyf first italian gig ever. these guys from manchester made me feel that good times never went away and the holy fire coming from that intense city is still burning.

4 kids will be brothers greeting brothers. go tell fire they say.
the music? you can't define music genres when it's so cruel and original. these guys are really special. passionate as arcade fire, clever as durutti column, tribal&funky as a certain ratio,  dark and deep as the birthday party. straight after the gig, the amazingly skilled drummer (I am not sure who's who amongst them:Evans Kati, Tom McClung, Ellery Roberts and Joseph Manning)told me : I like daniel johnston and one of my favourite albums is the return of durutti column. well, I can't wait for the return of the world unite lucyfer youth foundation . and ..by the way thanks a million to UOVO for bringing them here so early.

later on that night we ended up at a closeby friend flat. drinking lots and taking polaroid that came out totally black. lucyfer was still around, having a laugh about us all..

black smelly spray on the looking glass

the attention span of a milanese chicken last about 5 minutes. 10 if lucky. we need to talk to the same usual people about very important issues and we need to smoke ciggies holding a glass of bad wine and most of all we need to explain how great we are and what projects we are pursuing. that's why we go to events and art galleries. because we are all so very cool. nice, we look so nice and we all dressed so well. indeed.

ivano atzori doesn't seem to care about milanese chicken's habits and prepares exhibitions, performances and happenings that require at least 2 hours of your analogue time. he did it with one minute where you had to cue for 2 hours to finally meet him for 60 seconds. he used to do it so naturally at his headquarters in via vigevano where you would go to buy a t-shirt and eventually stayed all afternoon talking nonsense and abducting your own time.

this time around the alien ivano atzori is at the same time the urban vandal "dumbo", the actual head of a very cute family and the future nightmare of collectors and gallerists alike(yes, soon they will have to surrender and accept his behaviour while selling and buying his artworks for real cash, thank you very much).
his relics were displayed chronologically on the floor at gloria maria gallery in via watt.
a story in the making. a line of thought. an invisible wall that would have been obscured by a definitive gesture. black smelly spray on the looking glass. we were obscured by ivano atzori while he was shot by chris burden's ghost.

that was a hell of a performance and fuck you very much for not coming (you know who you are).

ps: if you wanna read more appropriate comments on this virtually real exhibition-event-performance check http://arte-milano.blogspot.com/2011/03/ivano-in-carne-ed-ossa.html  (sorry to say, but elena was not at the show- too busy elsewhere- so read davide giannella's commentary instead).
