rae martini

rae martini is the quintessential italian street artist. you can argue with me if you wish but one can not dispute his perseverance and evolution. Rae has always been studying. You can see that from the book 24 carat dirt published by damiani. lettering, techniques, painting merges, wild style. now that the young writer RAX:E has mutated into a sophisticated studio painter such as Rae Martini it seems it all makes sense. more then 20 years later, rae's canvas is resulting from an everchanging process of multilayered assaults including spray, solvent, FIRE, cement, glue..the street experience is not thrown away but somehow synthesized in a beautiful canvas. quite amazing.

by the way the other night rae presented at the don gallery a preview of a short film. well done!
here is a selection of some of rae's work.

Angelidakis Mountain

Andreas Angelidakis is an artist, an architect and a poet. His domesticated mountain questions the very essence of consumer society dilemmas. we all seem to participate in a rush to the temple of empty values.
consume or be consumed. we leave meaningless boxes and build a mountain of disillusion. the internet has only accellerated this process of accumulation with no gain. humans indeed have developed tools to self-destruction and are left wondering why the hell we are constantly purchasing more items to embellish our suburbian lives. I loved the exhibition at gloria maria gallery curated by maria cristina didero. angelidakis has one of the best blogs of the planet and this exhibit  reastablish andreas ability to narrate the contemporary times with a third voice that seems so familiar to our consciuos being. go watch it.
