Support Uovo

When I moved to Milan from London in 2002 I found a decent cultural territory. One of the most exciting events was and still is Uovo the peforming arts festival. One of the best in Europe, I believe. Now it's time to support Uovo and so I copy and paste Umberto Angelini's open letter for support. Just look at the images or remember Antony's gig and think Milan without all this. We can't afford it. And that's a fact.

"Dear Friend,
Thanks to you and to the public that from the beginning responded with enthusiasm and affection to the many activities we have organized, Uovo has become an innovative project, among the most curious and original.
Over the years, Uovo has presented the works of more than 300 world-renowned artists like Matthew Barney, Antony and the Johnsons, Societas Raffaello Sanzio, Carl Craig, Nathalie Djurberg, John Cale, Jerome Bel, Meg Stuart and young talents such as Mumford&Sons, Pathosformel, Dewey Dell, Fanfarlo, Giselle Vienne, Hiroaki Umeda, Silvia Costa, Toshiki Okada for a total of over 70 Italian premieres.
For us, 2010 was strategically a very important year thanks to the commencement of projects dedicated to childhood like “Uovo 0_11” and “Uovokids”, for the international co-productions and the practical support towards young Italian realities. Yet we had to deal with cuts from 50% to 70%, the result of politics that, in the cultural field and not only, penalize independence, excellence and the diversity that you, on the contrary, have always sustained.
Uovo needs to rely on your support, whatever that may be, based on your abilities and desires, so together we can continue to share our passions.
We wish you all the best and welcome you, as always, with curiosity and respect."
