saudade do brasil

last night I was having dinner with massimo torrigianiangelo plessas and andreas angelidakis and we suddenly talked about assume vivid astrofocus, one of the best art collectives of the decade in my opinion.

it obviously made me think about brasil again..where I spent the entire month of august..

Brasil is a booming economy. needless to say people are nice and possibilities are endless. nature is oustanding. we stayed in a oasis locals call "sitio" right in the middle of jericocoara national park.

where you could eat oysters from walking fisherman at 10 dollars a kilogram (that was breakfast for champions!). we were impressed by the quality of food (and capirinha). always fresh as ice (electricity) it's too expensive.

Another quality of these folks is their colours consciousness. it seems they are born with some magic flair. even fishermen are rocking. look at their simple boats and think of your next collection...

We had fantastic time with beautiful people. Invited by "ciccio" claudio cassano that is actually living there since a while. here are some pictures of claudio and global friends..

and (my) family edgar and dubi

                                                                   chiara from paris

while enjoying the house in the desert (and the flowers ..Perturba the horse and all one might desire)

..I have been reading a fantastic book"a death in brasil "by Peter Robb. It narrates the story of this land

through different layers. the social and political tragedy of brasilian past few hundred years include a mafia-like government (fernando collor de mello) up until Lula's triumph just 8 years ago. luckily Lula's legacy it goes on now with first ever female president Dilma Rousseff.

on our way back to europe we stopped at fortaleza where kids love to tag graffiti on statues,  dance to some crazy gabba-like techno and listen to surf rock retro.

here in Milan it's raining since days. that makes me think of my favourite thing of all which is being under a waterfall- possibly for hours. try it if you can! it's somehow refreshing..
