we just came back from a splendid Wien. a city that is a paradise for art lovers. contemporary, modern, all what you might want to see.
it would be perfect for Milan to copy and paste Wien's model of the Museum Quartier that attracts 4 million visitors on its own. but..we're just happy to waste resources in a Expo whatever (a very 20th century type of event).

In Wien we visited the Urs Fischer "skinny sunrise"at Kunsthalle and noticed this artist is truly universal. 6 years old Edgar loved Urs playful approach engaging the laws of gravity, volume, size. also, very interesting is the intervention the artist performed at the Kunsthalle where he destroyed walls but left us wondering why contemporary art is not so often as beautiful and convincing.

last night it was gary baseman momentum here in Milan thanks to antonio colombo pervasive attitude and forward thinking intention to break up the boredom of italian's little art supermarket where you need to be inside that very THING to get to survive. ignoring this fact antonio colombo is focusing on the LA lowbrow and after  ausgang here we have the mythological gary baseman whose arts are so diverse and "pervasive" that we could say the entire pop culture scenario is IN IT and WITH IT.

Il Teatro degli Orrori

Last thursday the 29th of March I've been at Teatro Degli Orrori @alcatraz in Milano. It was since CCCP's gig in 1988 at Teatro Tenda Partenope in Naples that I haven't seen such a demostration of strenght and intellectual pretentiousness. I like that. I like that somebody such as Pierpaolo Capovilla reminds us that existentialism and literature are still items to be taken care of. The noise, the blackness, the avantgarde attitude and the liberating screams made my day and indeed made it for the the thousands of italian alternative rockers happy to survive in this new light made of a dark spiritual strenght leading us to revolt. Once we established that "il Paese è reale" there is no need to imagine Italy as the country of well being and pizzamafiamandolino, no matter what. We're rotten, corrupted, ancient and controversial. We love Majakovsky, Pasolini, Ken Saro Wiwa, Antonin Artaud and we need to react to this very shameful generation made of Emilio Fede's types. Silvio's reign is ended and habitual lies are less fashionable now although still a national hobby. Listen to "il Teatro degli Orrori"especially if you're NOT italian as most of the readers here. Do translate the noisy melodies. You're gonna love the lyrics.
