THE FINE ART OF CLUBBING Developed by DJ and producer @DavideSquillace, in collaboration with creative laboratory #BoilerCorporation, #Blender is an itinerant, global one-nighter that re-thinks and re-stages the #clubexperience merging #dancemusic, #designtechnology and #contemporaryart. The idea of each #Blenderarts event is to record data from the night to be mixed and processed in order to create an artwork or a design piece. The ‘data’ effectively stems from live music as well as from the images and sounds of the club environment; tangible testimony of the crowd behaviour. The project draws inspiration from the #Futurist manifestos, #Fluxus disdain for hierarchy and from the heritage of #rave and #technoculture. It aims at drawing new relationships between sound and image, artist and audience, venue and exhibition space, redefining the role of music - and the body - in the universal context of creation. After the experiences of Blender 1 at @NordsternBasel, Blender 2 at @BlueMarlinIbizaUAE in #Dubai and Blender 3 at @Wallmiami during @miamiartbasel, Blender leads you to an immersive experience amongst the phases of the creation of the artworks, from the gathering of live data to the production of the design pieces. The Blender 2 sculpture - originally conceived in #Dubai in 2016 - is shown for the first time as a Copper sculpture. --- Davide Squillace is an internationally acclaimed techno DJ and co-founder with #MassimilianoAbbatangelo of @ThisAndThatLab, an electronic music label. As an art enthusiast and collector, along the years he collaborated with @galleriafonti and artists such as #Piero Golia, #Delia Gonzalez, #Fabian Marti, #Birgit Megerle, #Seb Pat#ane and Gavin Russom to produce visuals and album sleeves. Boiler Corporation is a creative laboratory led by @IvanmariaVele, @massimotorrigiani and @PierMarioSimula, based in #Milan, where it was founded in 2001 to edit and publish contemporary art magazine #Boiler. Since then, the company has worked on art, fashion and photography exhibitions; magazine and book projects; branding and marketing activities.
